Northward Georgia College & State University occurs as military college, located in Dahlonega, Georgia. It was founded around 1873 as North Georgia Agricultural College, & was a foremost co-educational college in the state. It late became Northerly Georgia College, so was given its todays title per Georgia Board of Regents in 1996.

Rather a Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta, the spire of one of the campus buildings is covered in gold leaf, as Dahlonegthe was a major gold rush town in the 1830s.

Harvard University, which celebrated its 350th anniversary in 1986, is the oldest institution of higher learning in the United States. Founded 16 years after the arrival of the Pilgrims at Plymouth, the University has grown from nine students with a single Master to an enrollment of more than 18,000 degree candidates, including undergraduates and students in 10 graduate and professional schools. An additional 13,000 students are enrolled in one or more courses in the Harvard Extension School.
